You have this on the Dutch side, but not here so I will start it. I play a little guitar, events in my life the last four years have meant I had no time to play it , but I am now trying to find time again. Some of it has stayed with me, but a lot hasn't so I need to practise a lot. At the moment I can just remember a few riffs, but I have started to learn My Pledge Of Allegiance ;D, and Rainbows version of Hall Of The Mountain King is a good finger excercise.

Best advice is to keep looking, advertise locally for like minded musicians, although if you are too specific about the music you want too play you may limit the replies you get. When you do find people keep an open mind and be prepared to embrace their ideas as well as your own. For my part I am just happy to be able to play the songs I like. I am usually too shy to go on stage, did it once, couldn't get back off again fast enough. Would be nice to find some like minded people to jam with though.

if i find bandmembers, i will write own songs and try to find a way to perform. i would like to let other people hear my music. but as a bassplayer its hard to start your own band.. because if you write songs on bass... it doesnt matter what the other instruments play. i would just a band with 2 guitars, 1 bass, drums, female vocalist and a pianist.

Just keep practising is the best advice I can give. Taking a few lessons helps. For me personally it was a great feeling when I managed to play my first riff, worth all the effort ,although I doubt that my neighbours agreed.
One of these days I might manage to spell everything right first time!

I first want to finish school (cliche ) I can play bassguitar. At least I tried out a few songs and I can play them really good now. I started with the CD "touch in the dark" from "Asrai", not really hard to bass along with. And now I can at least also play See Who I Am, Enter (Within Temptation), Gallery of Reality and The Coven (Autumn). I can't play it as good as the bandmembers can, but it's acceptable in my opinion

I have the Dummies Guide to the Guitar of which i have read the introduction, i'm really just waiting for a bit of time when i can sit down and try to learn, my general aim is just to make me a bit more sociable when i go to uni and i'd love to join/form a welsh folk metal band ('cause i'm hoping to study in Wales). I also play keyboards in an ishy manner, i can kinda play A Distance There Is (Theatre of) and various other songs that have made me go "ooh that has a piano part, i'll learn that". I can also play both hands of Sirenia's Seven Sirens and a Silver Tear but not at the same time, there's something in the way my brain works which stops me playing to lines of music at a time, even if i can play both parts seperately with my eyes closed. Can't sing and play either.
I like to write lyrics too, usually end up discarding them afterwards though.
