I have 900+ CDs, 6SACD, 1 DVDA, Approx 200 Vinyl, approx 40 each DVD & VHS. I do have a list for visitors, but I think it's a bit long for the forum. Latest purchase Epica - Consign to oblivion SACD, it's in the post.

I listen to music everyday, what I listen to depends on my mood, also I have a 37gb HDD Mp3 player to take in the car and when I go walking. It's got about 160 cds on it at present. Tends to be the heavier stuff I listen too, but it's not unknown for me to mix a tender love song or a bit of Goldfrapp in the middle, or a bit of classical, or whatever feels right at the time. At the moment After Forever, Regicide, Nightwish, Garmarna, and Wt's Enter are getting more of an airing. Have just got Epica, so that will be getting a lot of playing also. Dio is getting an airing on DVD - Nostalgia.

Keep in mind that cd`s were cheaper years ago, and you can get also lots of them on sale these days.

True up to a point, but CD's were expensive when they first came out. I estimate at around 1500 Euros for insurance, I do have some expensive specials, also some of the cd's you can buy easily over there, were classed as imports and priced accordingly over here before the internet took off. But to be honest other than for insurance I don't think too much about the monetary value, it's the music that is important. If I didn't have other interests I would probably have a lot more.

I'm sure in time you will have a great cd collection, but mine took a long time (years) to build up, although before I started collecting CD's I had about 300 vinyl albumns. Quality is far more important than quantity.

I also have a wish list, but it is always growing, every time I go near play.com, amazon, or hear some interesting music. There is so much beautiful music in the world and more being created all the time ;D. Sadly though I'm not a millionaire, but then maybe it's a good thing, it wouldn't mean so much, if it came too easily.
